It is with profound sadness that the family of Tammy (Tomena) Jean Ford announces
her peaceful passing on July 29, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Born on June 18,
1945, in Toronto, ON to William Burns Heard and Stella (Panagapko) Heard, her
childhood was spent in various locations in Saskatchewan. In her adult years, she
relocated to Calgary where she spent many years working and raising her family. She
and her husband moved to Claresholm in 2005 to enjoy their retirement.
Tammyメs passing was unexpected and has left our family and friends heartbroken. In
recent times, she had faced a number of health challenges. Though her family
encouraged her to seek medical care, she remained private and independent in her
choices. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home.
Those who knew Tammy will remember her warmth, generous heart, and her love of
laughter. She cared deeply for her family, was always there when needed, and
cherished being part of the Claresholm community. Her absence will be a great void felt
by all who knew her kindness, empathy, and comforting presence.
Tammy shared a remarkable love with her husband of 56 years. Engaged just one
month after they met and married six months later, their life together was built on
friendship, devotion, and an enduring bond. They were partners, soulmates, and best
friends, known for the laughter they shared and the love they showed one another every
day.
Tammy will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Larry, daughter Shelley, son
Kelly, sister-in-law Anita Ford and family, as well as other extended family and friends
who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Reginald Heard,
her adored in-law parents William Leroy Ford and Vivian June (Dvorak) Ford and her
brother-in-law Gary Leroy Ford. Her family is grateful for the love, friendship, and
support of those who were part of her life and who will carry her memory forward.
A public memorial service will be held at Zentner Funeral Home in Claresholm, AB on
Saturday, August 15, at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Tammy are welcome to
attend and share in remembering her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be
gratefully accepted by the Claresholm Social Centre Society.
