Susan Mary (Jordorson) Thompson

It is with great sadness that the family of Susan Mary (Jordorson) Thompson announces her passing on January 10, 2025, from complications due to diabetes and a heart condition. 

Susan was born in London, England on February 12, 1948, and moved to Canada in 1970 when she married Robert Hugh Thompson of Claresholm, Alberta where they raised three children on the family farm.

While in England, Susan worked at a children's home and her love of children continued throughout her lifetime, volunteering for school field trips and the MOPS program at the Faith Community Baptist Church.

Susan was known and loved for her cheerful demeanour and English accent, her skill at embroidery, and her love of animals and music. She was a member of the Claresholm Community Choir for many years. She was also an avid letter-writer, keeping friends and family connected over the years.

She will be fondly remembered by her friends and the community, her children, Julia (Sait), Chris and Heather (Dylan) and granddaughter Maxine, as well as the extended family here and abroad.

Memorial donations may be made to Susan's favourite charities: STARS Air Ambulance, the Claresholm Health Foundation, and Claresholm CAReS Animal Shelter.
