It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stan Mitchell on December 28, 2024, at the age of 79. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his final moments, and he leaves behind many cherished memories that will be forever held dear.
Stan was born on December 31, 1944, in Rosedale, AB., to Tom and Betty. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Bonnie, with whom he shared 55 years of happiness and partnership. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and memories. He was a dedicated father to their children, Tara, Matt (Tracy), and Jennifer, and a proud grandfather to Braeden, Keenan, and Talon, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy. He was a loving brother to his sister Carol, and proud uncle to his nieces, Melanie and Kathy, and nephew Darren, and their families.
Throughout his life, Stan was known for his wisdom, kindness, patience, generosity, and his witty sense of humor. He had a passion for playing golf and cheering on his grandchildren and favourite sports teams, the Edmonton Oilers and Green Bay Packers. Stan was known for his strong work ethic and enjoyed a long career as a pharmacist at the Claresholm Centre for Mental Health and Addictions serving countless patients with care and dedication. He was respected by his colleagues and cherished for his unwavering work ethic, and warm spirit.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public service. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Stan’s memory to the Claresholm and District Health Foundation toward Staff Wellness for the teams at the Claresholm General Hospital and Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre.
Though he is no longer with us, Stan’s spirit and the love he shared will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
