Ruth ‘Elaine’ Whitehead was born December 14, 1924 east of Claresholm on her grandfather’s farm and passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2018 at the Claresholm General Hospital. She is survived by her two children, Brenda Whitehead and Daniel (Elaine) Whitehead, and one grandchild Amanda Grant. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud, parents Lula and Paul Lepard, and sister Dorothy Nowlin.
Elaine loved music, dancing, gardening and growing beautiful flowers and was well known for the delicious chocolates she made and sold every Christmas with her husband. She was an active and dedicated member of the LDS church and she spent many happy hours researching genealogy.
Elaine was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all the people’s lives she touched. She will be remembered by those who knew her as a kind and humble person, willing to help and care for others.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (4924-3rd Street East, Claresholm, Alberta). The Relief Society Room will be open at 1:00 pm for those who wish to pay their respects and meet with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine’s memory may be made directly to the Claresholm General Hospital Palliative Care Committee in care of the Claresholm and District Health Foundation (P.O.
