Roy "Paul" Suchow

Paul Kasper Suchow

January 5, 1932 – November 3, 2020

Paul passed away peacefully in his sleep, at the age of 78, in Claresholm, Alberta, on November 3, 2020.

Paul was born and raised a farm boy in the Barrhead area of Alberta.  He turned his love for agriculture into a 30 year career with United Grain Growers.  

During that time, he married his high school sweetheart, Meryle, November, 1964.  
During the next 30 years, Paul and Meryle were blessed with 3 children; Natalie, Vanessa and Shawn, and added many towns in central northwesten Alberta as home,
before moving to Grande Prairie in the early 80s.  

Paul was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed curling, ball, and hockey most of all  GO OILERS!!

Paul and Meryle moved to Calgary in 1990, the last move with UGG.  In the early 2000s, the travel bug woke up, and the trips to Vegas started!!!  
In 2016, full retirement started, and was a year of many changes.  Paul and Meryle became official "Snowbirds", purchasing a cozy place, in Apache Junction, AZ.  
Needless to say, it was only a 3 minute walk from the pool!
They also moved to Claresholm, to enjoy a slower lifestyle, and just be Gramma and Gramps.

The 12 years spent in Arizona were full of sun, day trips in the desert, and maybe the odd casino or flea market :)
He was also an avid fan of the political scene down there, which always made for interesting conversations, to be sure.

Paul has been predeceased by many loving family members and friends, as well as his buddy, son in law Reid, in 2008.

He is survived by his loving wife, and highschool sweetheart, Meryle.
His children, Natalie, Vanessa (Mark), and Shawn (Jennifer), and grandchildren Michelle, Tyler (Mikayla), Torin, Kennedy and Evan.
And his sister, Helen, of Edmonton, along with many nieces and nephews.
