Robert (Bob) George Thompson

August 1, 1928 - November 30, 2020

It is with great sadness the family of Bob Thompson announce his peaceful passing at the Claresholm General Hospital on Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of 92. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elaine (Nowlin), son Bryan (Debbie) Thompson, daughter Arlene (Hugh) MacOdrum, grandchildren, Amy (Steve) Carver, Chris (Sandia) Thompson, Paula (Trevor) Zasadny, Bob (Michelle) MacOdrum and six great-grandchildren.

Bob was the youngest of five children born to Ole and Sigrid Thompson. He was born in Claresholm and spent his entire life working and volunteering to make Claresholm a great place to live. He was awarded the Alberta Minister's Seniors Service Award for his dedication and volunteer service to seniors in the community. Bob was also a devoted member of the Lion's Club and Claresholm Seniors Drop In Centre which provided a multitude of great memories. 

Bob and Elaine enjoyed a wonderful retirement together. He always said, "I don't know how I had time to work".

The family thanks the staff at the Claresholm General Hospital for the amazing and compassionate care in his final days. Also, many thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Cottonwood Village and the friends who always put a smile on his face. 

Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service for the family will be held at a later date.
