Celebrating the life of Nancy Mae Northman “Smith”. Born: June 20th 1944 - August 8th 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Daniel Northman announces the passing of his beloved wife. Nancy and Daniel were received on November 21, 1944 for 61 years.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband Daniel Northman and their children: Wanda (Lyndon), Renay, Camille, Jasmine, Muriel, Kevin, Dave, Eugene, Steph (Mike), Darlene. Grandchildren: Ayla, Tai-ann, Emma-Jo (Robert), Mia (Niki), Marcel (Jossette), Patrick “Pj”, Nathan Joseph, Matayia, Andrea (Jaime), Jaylene, Lukas, Tahj, Talisha, Kyrie, Jay, Kyran, Amelia, Mark, Gilbert, Ayisha, Shilow, Tansheena, Magoo, Kiya and Jay. Great-Grandchildren: Arianna, Khlor, Aiden, Tiyaz, Nevaeh, Haizley, Oaklee, Task, Camden, Arwin, Bruin, Addy, Aleara, Daniel, Kyrie, Coi, Jamari, Nathan Jay, and Nokota. She is survived by her siblings: Maurice Littlewolf (Betty-Ann), Jim SWAG, and Diane; and predeceased by her parents Peter and Grace Smith and siblings Walter, Greg, Holly, and Francis.
Nancy’s life achievements earlier on in her life was in Maskwacis, AB and St Cyprians Boarding School. She then graduated from Matthew Halton High School in Pincher Creek, AB. She achieved a certification at Nechi in Poundmaker, AB in Alcohol and Drug counseling. She worked as a teachers aide with the Piikani Board of Education and Lethbridge Community College. Nancy established in detail the Piikani Nation Membership as a manager. She also worked briefly with Piikani bussing, and also fostered numerous children in Piikani and the surrounding area. For the majority of her life she enjoyed traveling many miles to different hand games all over the U.S and Canada, gaining numerous sisters, brothers, children and grandchildren who she adored and loved as her own.
