August 22, 1922 ~ May 7, 2020 (age 97)

Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mildred B. Stevenson on May 7, 2020.

Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband Read Stevenson, sons Lorne, Charles and Lloyd and his spouse Laurie, daughter-in-law Joyce, and grandson Bobbie.

Mildred was a loving Mother, Mother-in-law and Grandmother to sons Blois Stevenson, Fred (Lynn) Stevenson, and daughter Marilyn (Garry) Wostradowski, 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Mildred was born in PEI on August 22, 1922, and later moved with her family to Calgary prior to enjoying retirement in Claresholm. She enjoyed time with her family, friends, activities at the Drop- In Centre and winters in Arizona. Mildred loved to work in her garden, paint, play cards, play bingo and many other activities.

Due to the pandemic, we are heartbroken that a family gathering cannot take place at this time but arrangements for a Celebration of Life in Mildred’s memory will be scheduled for the family, as soon as it is safe to do so.

Donations may be made in Mildred’s name to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca/get-involved/donate, the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, www.albertadiabetesfoundation.com  or The ALS Society of Alberta, www.alsab.ca.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Leishman and the staff at Willow Creek Care Centre for providing such excellent care to Mildred.
