It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Adalgisa Cecchini on August 7, 2018.  Mary was born in Sedegliano, Udine, Italy on December 13, 1918.  In 1950, she immigrated to Nelson, B.C.  Mary married her husband Fred, who predeceased her in 1970.  Mary is survived by her son Silvano (Helen) and two grandchildren Sarah and Michael; her sister-in-law, Ada; niece Orietta (Jamie) and their children Sean (Amy), Amanda (Alex); and nephew Ivano (Lynne) and their children Alicia and Mateo.

Evening Prayers will be held at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate (813 Ward Street, Nelson, B.C.) on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate on Thursday, September 6th, 2018 at 10:30 AM.

To our friends, thank you for the phone calls, texts, flowers and cards.  We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Helen Tse, the staff at the Foothills Hospital and Bayshore Home Health for the kind care that was given to our mother; our gratitude to the pallbearers; the CWL for preparing the luncheon; Father Neil; and Willow Creek Funeral Home (Ron) for their help in our loss.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Mary’s honor to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
