Lydia Mary Ann Tyrer, born in Lichfield, England on November 11, 1951, and passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025 at the age of 73. She moved to Canada in 1953 and was raised in Picture Butte and later graduated from Picture Butte High. This is where she met her high school sweetheart and soulmate, Doug Tyrer whom she married on November 21, 1970, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Lydia retired in Granum, AB, after dedicating much of her profession to administrative work.
Lydia had a love for fishing and camping, especially at Payne Lake, and she cherished traveling, cruises were among her favorite adventures.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Eva Piorkowski. She is survived by her beloved husband Doug and two daughters Tammy (Nathen) Rushforth of Ymir, BC and Tanya (Ryan) Miller of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her two sisters Sylvia French and Terry Millwater. Lydia had 6 grandchildren Dax, Zeva and Xane Rushforth; and Mikayla, Emily and Jamie Miller. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Sharon Tyrer.
In accordance with Lydia’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, and cremation will follow. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Cancer Society.
