Linda Edith (Stone) Gregory

Linda Edith Mary Gregory (Stone) peacefully took her last breath holding her daughter's hand and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 5, 2026 at the age of 75.   Born on September 3, 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta, she was the first born daughter in the family of 13 children to John and Theresa Stone. She was a big sister to her 7 brothers: Patrick, Johnny, Kevin, Joey, Davey, Dennis and Larry and to her 5 sisters: Brenda, Marianne, Debbie, Colleen, and Shannon. She was the Mother of 4 children who are left behind to mourn her passing: Robert, Jennifer, Christopher, and Curtis. She was the Auntie to 34 nieces and nephews and a Great Auntie to 38. She was a loving Grandmother (Nana) to Chase, her only grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Theresa, her younger brothers Patrick, Dennis, Joey, and Kevin, and three of her nephews Kevin Jr, Joseph Jr, and Justin. In March of 2023 Linda was given a new chance at a peaceful and happy life when she went to live with her daughter Jenna, son-in-law Wade, and her grandson Chase. Living on a peaceful picturesque farm in the rolling foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Linda enjoyed gazing at the stunning mountain views of the Eastern Slopes and watching the beautiful birds and abundant wildlife. This serene location will be her final resting place amongst the trees to be planted in her honour. Yogi Bear, the resident Peke-a-Pom Prince, quickly fell in love with his Nana, and the two of them were inseparable best friends - especially at meal times - as Nana always shared her food and snacks with him. Linda loved dogs, and shared a special bond with them in her years in the professional show dog industry as an owner-handler and groomer.

All throughout her life, Linda was a vibrant and active social butterfly who loved to engage with everyone she came across. She was a kind, caring, generous and loyal friend to many. Sporting a mischievous twinkle in her eyes and a feisty spirit, she was up for any challenge with any opponent and was a fierce competitor when it came to justice, games, or a battle of wits. She loved to shop and was a master at finding all of the best deals. She adored houseplants, and at one time she had several hundred in her home. She loved to bake, and her family and friends were blessed with the different breads, and delicious cookies and cakes that she made. Despite having dementia, she never lost her playful happy spark, and she always remembered the words to all of her favourite songs. She loved to crank her music really loud and walk around and dance to it throughout the house. Singing songs with her daughter in the car and watching her face light up with remembrance of the melodies and the words are visions held fondly in our hearts. Going for Blizzards at Dairy Queen with her grandson Chase was one of her most favourite things to do, and memories of these outings will be cherished by him forever. She became even more loving, sweeter, and innocently child-like in her remaining years. She hugged people everywhere she went, and left them with a gentle kiss on their cheek, a genuine smile on their face, and a softened, melted heart. Most importantly, she remained faithful in her love for Jesus, and God the Father. She is saved by grace, and is resting in peace awaiting the return of our Lord and Saviour, and her resurrection to a new glorified body, and everlasting life. It was an honour and a privilege to be your caregiver and make sure that you were happy and loved in your last years of life, Momma. Rest in Peace until we meet again. We love you forever.
