John Andrew Stotz
John Andrew Stotz lived with a beautiful, joyful spirit, a huge heart, and a gentle soul. Known for his amazing sense of humor and love for a good time, John was a genuinely kind person who brought warmth and laughter to everyone around him.
John passed away at the age of 43 at South Health Campus in Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday, July 13th, 2026. A deeply loving brother and son, he is survived by his mother, Jenny Slemko, and siblings Adam Filipcic, Christian Clapton (Kathy), Katherine Anderson (Laurence Roy, and beloved family Yorkie, Daisy), and Alison Clapton (Tony Ramirez). He is reunited in peace with his father, John Stotz Sr., and brother, Timothy Clapton.
He is lovingly remembered by his surviving aunts and uncles: Julia Adnitt (Ted), Gillian Greenly (Glenn "Whitey" Whiteside), Rodger Stotz (Marilynne), Yvonne MacDonald, and Mary Stotz. He is predeceased by his grandparents on both sides, aunt Betty Gray (Bill), and uncles Frank Stotz and Archie MacDonald, alongside cousin Shaun Gray.
Above all, John held a special place in his heart for his family, leaving behind a treasured bond with his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th at the family home where John resided, 73 Harvest Square, Claresholm.
