Obituary of Herbert Raymond Schliemann

Herbert Raymond Schliemann of Claresholm, Alberta, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the age of 86.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Mabel Schliemann; his first wife, Marion Collison; his partner, Eleanor McLeod; and his niece, Wanda (Massett) Striga.

Herbert is survived by his sister, Jean (Duane) Massett; nephews Barry, Robin, and Earl; as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews who will fondly remember him.

Throughout his life, Herbert was known for his strong work ethic and versatile skills. He worked in many trades over the years, including carpentry, welding, and cabinet making, as well as various roles in general labour and lawn and garden care and maintenance. His dedication and craftsmanship were evident in everything he did.

In his leisure time, Herbert enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or camping. He also loved spending time with family and friends over a good game of cards, bowling, or a round of cribbage. His good humour and easygoing nature made him a welcome presence in every gathering.

Herbert will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will be remembered with love and respect.

A Graveside Service will be held on November 8, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Reception to follow at Zentner Funeral Homes.
