Helen Benjamin Mortimer nee Nickel

Helen passed away peacefully at Bow Crest Care Centre, Calgary, Alberta on Sunday April 15, 2018 at 99 years of age.

She was Born May 9, 1918 in Gruenfeld, Siberia, Russia and immigrated with her family to Pangman, Saskatchewan in 1928. Despite having only a small Canadian education, she obtained her certificate of Nursing Assistant. She volunteered both in her church and with the Meals on Wheels for many years. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Lorne Mortimer in 1984.
Helen is survived by sister Aganeta Bannister and brother Cornelius Nickel, sons; 
Richard (Jacqui), Douglas (Myriam) and daughrter Lorna Robb, along with numerous grand 
children, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and  nieces & nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at Willow Creek Funeral Home, ( 4079 - 1st St. West,Claresholm ) on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Interment to follow at the Claresholm Cemetery.
