   Sadly, on June 22nd, 2023 Jeanne Balleny passed away at the age of 63 years.  Our dear wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend left us with a lifetime of love and laughter, joy and a few tears.

   She is survived by her common-law husband of 24 years, Brian; her 4 children Brian (Kory), Kristie (Cal), Kyla (Jeff) and Skyler (Kristin).  She is also survived by her brothers Len and Dennis (estranged); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends; as well as former husbands Keith and Ed.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Grace, as well as her sister Denise.
   Jeanne was born in Kingston, Ontario in the year 1960 and had a happy childhood growing up in CFB Shilo, CFB St. Hubert (Montreal) and Winnipeg.  An early interest and talent was that of archery, with Jeanne placing first in the Manitoba provincials (14 and under category) in 1973, much to her fathers' pride and delight.
   Jeanne had a varied and rewarding career, but none more impressive than enlisting in the Canadian military in 2002, gutting out basic training in her early forties.  She slotted in as a Supply Tech here in CFB Winnipeg until her early retirement in 2010 due to medical issues.

   In her later years she greatly enjoyed hosting her family and friends in Claresholm, Alberta, a retirement gift for Brian and herself, purchased in 2016.  It is also in these later years that she taught her family and friends true courage and grace, as she endured numerous medical procedures in response to her failing health.  Her spirit and humour never left her in these trying times, and that grit and strength stands as an enduring testimony to all that knew and loved her.

   A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Claresholm General Hospital for her care in her declining years and last weeks.

   As per Jeannes' wishes, her body was cremated and will be interred back in Winnipeg in the summer of 2024 (with a ceremony at that time).

   A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at the

 Claresholm Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday September 17,2023.
