Ebba Blejken Hansen Frisk

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ebba Blejken Hansen Frisk announce her passing on October 7, 2025. Ebba was born in Lavenby, Denmark on June 23 1933. In 1960, Mom and Dad decided to move to Canada for a better life.

It wasn’t easy leaving all your family behind, picking up your two small children and immigrating to Canada. When they arrived in Halifax they got on a train and headed west. Mom’s brother Karl had immigrated a couple of years earlier and he was in Alberta so that’s where they went. They ended up on a small farm outside of Stavely to start with.

They ended up staying in and around the Stavely area most of their lives. In 1969 they welcomed another son Steve to the family. After retirement they travelled around a bit but mostly they spent their time with family and grandkids. I don’t think they missed too many hockey games. When the great grandkids started arriving Mom couldn’t get enough of them. She would cook supper for the grandkids and great grandkids, once a week. It was a very special bonding time for all of them.

Ebba was predeceased by her husband Soren, a son Steve, a son Bent, and a lot of family in Denmark.

Left to mourn in her passing is her daughter Lis (Dennis), brother Karl(Shirley) and family, daughter-in-law Cindy. her grandkids; Clayton (Amy). EiIa & Wynne, Trevor (Holly), Carlo & Lewis, Ryan (Alexander&Aurelia), Cyra (Dar), Finoulla & Ailsa. Errol (Lisa), Ella & Emmett, and Camryn (Sebastian).

The family would like to thank the staff at the continuing care centre for their support and compassion over the last three years. memorial donations can be made to the heart and stroke foundation in memory of Ebba - Box 2414, Toronto, Ontario, M4P 1E4.

At Ebba's request, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family scattering of ashes will be held.
