It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Douglas Murray Scott passed peacefully at his home west of Claresholm on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021.
Doug will be forever in the hearts of his wife Caron Scott, his sons Jeff (Kim) and Craig (Dalanie), his grandchildren, Kord, Josie, Keegan and Armani and all the people who were blessed to be part of his life. He was also survived by his sister Vonnie (Don) McLean.
Doug was the life of the party. He made friends with anyone that would strike up a conversation and was truly unforgettable. His kindness and humour was captivating.
Doug and Caron met in their teens and their love was immediate. They did everything together from travelling with his band, numerous curling bonspiels, dancing, cattle drives and of course daily ranching. As always, it was never a dull moment with Doug.
His passions were outdoors. Time at the lake, Ranching and hunting topped the list. Horseback hunts in the mountains with his sons was a guarantee every season. Many hours of planning (and a lot of beer) went into every trip. Those memories will be cherished forever.
His grandchildren were the light of his life. Teaching them to ride and taking them on wagon trips. He rarely missed a game or performance. For the moments he missed he would always have them share their successes.
Although Doug passed far too soon, he had a very fulfilling life. Making the most out of every situation, always being positive and having fun in the process.
At his request, there will be no service. Those wishing to provide a gift in Doug’s name are asked to do so to the charity of their choice.
