DONALD GARY HUGHES

January 2,1952 – January 2, 2026

Gary Hughes passed away peacefully at the Claresholm Hospital, Claresholm, Alberta on Friday January 2, 2026 at the age of 74.

 Forever remembered by his wife and best friend Mindy May Jenkins. Together they lived a life full of adventure. Their last dream was fulfilled by moving to a ranch in the foothills of Alberta.

Gary was a long-time member of the Ontario Cutting Horse Association, the Canadian Cutting Horse Association, the Alberta Cutting Horse Association and the National Cutting Horse Association. He was a respected cutting horse judge thru ought Canada and the United States. Gary was also an accomplished cutting horse trainer and competitor. 

He will be sadly missed by Nelle, Jill, Jerry Lee, Seven, Georgie and 6 barn cats.
