Donald William Bauer

Donald William Bauer March 21, 1946 - June 11, 2023 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Betty, daughters Tracy Bauer, Karen (Kristian) Wold, grandchildren Carly Bauer, Hayley Bauer, and Arik Wold, his brother Marvin Bauer, sister Marj (Jack) Derochie, nieces and nephews Arlene May, Marilyn (Ken) Olfert, Linda (Norman) Wever, Sonya (Kurt) Smith, Sherry Green, Stuart (Brenda) Derochie, Patti (Rob) MacOdrum, Marla Russell, Mida (Justin) Blades, Alexandra Russell, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and George Bauer, sister Violet Bauer, parents in-law Gordon and Flora Russell, and brother-in-law Alex Russell. Don was a farmer all his life, and he loved being on the farm. Together, Don and Betty also enjoyed many entrepreneurial ventures including auto body restoration, a publishing press, raising cattle, machine shop work, making tools, and much more. Don always said, “we have good neighbours”. He enjoyed it when they would either stop by for coffee, or call to talk on the phone. His family meant the world to him. He made sure to teach his kids and grandkids the many different things we needed to know for the running of the farm, and for life in the world. There is a huge void in our lives without him, and we pray the coming days, weeks, and months will be gentle, as we learn how to navigate the world without him.

A Celebration of life Graveside service will be held at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery on June 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
