Debra Elaine Ryhorchuk

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother and Nanny, Debra Elaine Ryhorchuk (Newman). Deb was born on June 30, 1974, in Drumheller, Alberta and passed away on March 30, 2021, at the young age of 46. Deb is survived by her husband Avery, and children: April (Shawn), Tiffany (Stephen), Colt, Chase and her grandchildren McKenna, Connor and Jackson. Deb will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Donald Newman and Marion Saunders and by her siblings: Wendy (Claude), Wanita, Shelley, Mickey (Kathy), Brian, Mark, Ed. Deb was predeceased by her brother Darcy.

Deb was a super committed Mom! She learned everything she could about autism, teaching others around her through her loving example of keen understanding. Deb ran the local rec centre and after-school program for many years; she loved the kids and enjoyed spending time with them. She never judged anyone, seeing and believing in each person’s potential.

Deb was a proud mom and a very proud Nanny (Grandma). She had the biggest heart of anyone you would meet. Her open-door policy welcomed all the kids in town, friends, family and community members into the family home. Deb’s love for cooking was enjoyed by many as she hosted family and guests for all holidays and events.

Deb loved music, either at home or on the back of the Harley, she would be rocking out and enjoying life. She worked at Alberta Health Services for eight years, taking pride in everything she did for the comfort of the residents.

Deb will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends and co-workers. She loved many and was loved by many.
