It is with great sadness that the family of Darla Smith announce her passing the morning of December 15th, 2021, at the Claresholm Hospital.

Darla was born in Calgary, Alberta, on October 19th, 1944 and attended school in Nanton, Alberta. On August 8th, 1959, Darla married Duane Smith in Nanton, Alberta. Throughout her life, Darla worked in hospitality, construction and retail sales. Duane and Darla retired to Nanton, Alberta.

Her interests were;

Travelling in the motorhome
Summers spent at Slave Lake fishing
Watching Chuckwagon races
Curling
Playing scrabble with her grandkids
Couch cuddle time with her fur-babies

Darla is survived by her loving husband of 62 years of marriage, Duane Smith. Her son Ken Smith (Cindy Smith), her daughter Sandy Lee Corsi (Sandy Corsi), her son Colton Smith (Serena Smith) and her son Kevin Smith, her siblings Cliff (Diane) Slade, Wendy (Dave) Slade Zuehlke and Royal Slade, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pre-Deceased by her parents John and Helen Slade, her son Robbie Smith and her brothers Larry and Dale Slade.

There will be no funeral or memorial service.
