Brenda Gail (Hendrickson) Sykes

Brenda Gail Sykes passed away peacefully on Friday October 26th at the age of 78. She is lovingly remembered by her children Linda (Jim), Marcy (Rob) and Gary; seven grandchildren: Jodi (Donnie), Jamie (Sean), Justin, Brady (Twila), Colt, Kyla (Walter), Matthew (Katelyn); ten great-grandchildren: Ashley, James, Quintin, Christopher, Bella, Lucy, Reese, Paige, Pearl and Walter. She is also remembered by one sister Diane (Graham), nephew Brad, niece Leesa (Warren) and Ruby. Brenda was predeceased by her husband Boyd in 2011. 

Brenda was born March 6, 1940 in Calgary Alberta, and was raised on the family farm east of Parkland. Brenda and Boyd were married November 1, 1957 and they farmed east of Stavely until they retired in 1987. Brenda loved to cook and many in the community will miss the fantastic meals that she loved to share with anyone dropping by for a visit.  Brenda moved into the town of Stavely in 2013, and was an active member of the Stavely Royal Purple and the Stavely Golden Age Center. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of Brenda's Life will be held at the Stavely Community Centre (5101-52 Street, Stavely) on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM with the Stavely Royal Purple officiating.
