It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Barry Dwight Way, born January 19, 1953, in Shawville, Quebec. Barry passed away peacefully at his home on March 28, 2026.
Barry was predeceased by his parents, Florence Way (April 17, 2017) and Oswald Way (August 3, 2007), his sister Judith Young (June 16, 2018), and his brother Brian Way (March 7, 2010).
He leaves behind his loving wife of many years, Mary Way, and his five sons: David (Kerri), Robert, Allan, Mark (Amy Lynne), and Doug (Zoe). Barry will be deeply missed by his many grandchildren and great‑grandchild.
In 1981, Barry and Mary moved to Alberta, where they made their home in Granum, built a life together, and raised their family. Barry was a hardworking long‑haul truck driver who took great pride in providing for his family. He was known for his strong values, dedication, and unwavering work ethic.
In his younger years, Barry enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, camping, working on vehicles with his boys, and tending to his garden, which he cared for with great pride. These simple joys reflected the man Barry was—hands‑on, caring, and happiest when surrounded by family and the outdoors.
Barry will be remembered for his strength, his integrity, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with Barry’s wishes, no viewing or traditional funeral service will be held. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, which will take place later in the summer of 2026. Details will be shared in the coming weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Zentner Funeral Homes, Claresholm, Alberta (403‑625‑3212).
