Barbara Anne (Thomas) Broumas

Broumas, Barbara Anne (Thomas) age 75, of Cowley Alberta and long time resident of Burnfield Ave. Toronto ON; passed away surrounded by family on Fri. Feb. 17, 2023. after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.

Loving wife of Konstantinos (Gus) Broumas of Toronto. Fiercely loving mother of Catherine (Gerald) Dadson of Cowley AB., Eileen (Richard) Dadson of St. Thomas ON., and Thomas (Marie) Roy of Coleman AB. Grandmother of Nathan (Vivian) Smith and Brianne Dadson. Also fondly remembered by her brothers Robert (Carolyn) Thomas of Saskatoon along with their children Rachel, Ruth, Jonathan and Justin and Charles (Wesley) Thomas of Belleville Ontario.

Born March 9, 1947 to the late John W. Thomas and Hazel (Scarrow) Thomas in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Barbara moved with her family to Ottawa in 1960 where she attended high-school and met her first husband. She moved to Toronto in the mid 60's where she had her children and began her career. She met her second husband Gus in the mid 70's while working for UTL Travel. They were married in Limnista Greece in 1982 where they built his parents a house and vacationed there over many years until illness prevented travel.

Barbara retired from CIBC Melon Toronto in 2009. An avid coffee shop patron, she enjoyed visiting friends and family over a good black cup of coffee! In her younger career, she was an eager participant of The Terry Fox run and she enjoyed skiing and travel. She loved ABBA music as well as Elton John and Barbara Streisand. Going to BINGO was her secret pleasure!

A memorial service to celebrate Barb's life will be held Sat. March 18 @ Carpenter's Church, 1339 Ave D North, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Cremation has already taken place. Private family internment in a Saskatoon Cemetary at a later date.
