It is with great sadness that the family of Aura Baker announces her passing on March 19, 2023, at the age of 107.
Aura Marguerite Baker was born on May 3, 1915, in the farmhouse of her parent's 100-acre farm in Victoria Square, Ontario, just north of Toronto.
When Aura was six, she began attending school in nearby Markham township and attended High School in Richmond Hill.
She enjoyed playing baseball and was a member of the "Canadian Girls in Training" and the "Junior Farmers of Ontario." She also enjoyed singing and playing piano.
On August 31, 1935, she married Harold Murray Baker. They lived as a married couple for sixty-six wonderful years, and the pair shared their love with four children, Norma, Shirley, Bruce, and Beverley, until Murray's death on February 10, 2002.
Aura is predeceased by her husband, Murray, and her parents, Roscoe and Olive Klinck; her brothers and sisters, Ellis, Marion, Millicent, Harold, and Doreen; her son-in-law Ed (Sparks); her granddaughter Sandy Harvey, and great-grandson Harry Harvey. She is survived by her children, Norma (Don) Clayton, Shirley (Duane) Mullen, Bruce (Carol) Baker, and Beverley (David) Deeks, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
The funeral for Aura will be held on April 1, 2023 @ 11:00 A.M., at the Claresholm Church of the Nazarene, 359 49th Ave W, Claresholm. Donations can be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
