With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mom, sister, grandma, great grandma and friend, Agnes. Mom was raised by Ida & Elsworth Russell and grew up with five siblings, Linda, Edna, Pat, Alice and Allen.
Agnes was born and raised in Granum, AB and began working at 18 at the Koehler Farm as a homemaker, where she fell head over heels for her future husband, Fred. A few years later, they married in 1956, sharing chores on the farm and at home. There wasn’t anything Agnes wouldn’t do on the farm or for anyone in need. Together they welcomed two sons into the world, who in turn helped run and operate the farm and ranch duties.
It filled Agnes’ heart to be camping, dancing, and beating all the kids at Canasta. She took great pride in watching the grandkids at ropings, brandings and anything to do with the horses. Fred passed in 1989, which is when Mom’s strength and determination shined. She and the boys stayed busy taking care of the farm for years. In 2005, she was taken with a gentleman named Stan Herrell, and they soon married. They shared the love of dancing, music, camping, and fishing. Mom couldn’t be outfished - though we all tried. Her humble little smile after catching a fish and the cutest giggle didn’t fool us - she loved every second of it.
She and Stan helped each other through some really tough times, and we were so grateful they had each other to lean on and share their love. We will all miss her famous Kraft Dinner, and to this day, we don’t know what she did to it that it was so good, but it was a game-changer.
Waiting for her in Heaven will be her beloved family - Fred Koehler, her parents, Ida and Elsworth (Cap) Russell, her brother Allen, sister Alice and daughter-in-law Kathy; Agnes will be missed by those she left behind, her husband Stan, sons, Mel and Arnold, grandchildren, Harley (Jen) Koehler, Kerry (Perry) Douglas, Ryden (Arden) Koehler, Colten (Kateri) Koehler, great-grandchildren Delaney, Paisley Douglas, and Molly Koehler. Stepchildren Julie Fuller and Garnet Herrell and their families.
We will miss you dearly, ‘till we meet again, we will treasure our memories of you.
