February 28, 1932 – December 17, 2019

Leonard Nelson Pedersen was born on February 28, 1932 in Claresholm, Alberta and passed away on December 17, 2019 on the ramp at the Claresholm Medical Centre at the age of 87 years. He lived on his own in his home until the end.

Leonard is survived by his brothers, James (Shirley) Pedersen of Claresholm, Children; Brian (Carol), Rita (Jeff) and Leslie, Charles (Cheryl) Pedersen of High River, Children; Troy (Dec'd 2009), Treanne (Shawn), and Wendy, Garry (Lorraine) Pedersen of Claresholm, Wayne (Teresa), Donna (Gary), Marcy (Rob), and numerous cousins.

Leonard is predeceased by grandparents Nels Peter and Rosetta Open Shaw Yorgason, parents; Alice Elizabeth (Lizzie) Yorgason and Severin Pedersen and numerous aunts and uncles.

Working on numerous farms in the Claresholm area, 2CMU Claresholm Airport then to Comox Air Base, B.C. returning to Claresholm to work for Don Norby Construction as a machine operator and Municipal District of Willow Creek later going into partnership with Scotty Wilson and named it S & L Ditching. He worked at this for three or four years, before selling due to ill health. He kept busy with his woodworking hobbies, fishing and his gardening.

Leonard attended school at the Claresholm school, then Hoosier school, five Mile School and finished in Claresholm.

At Leonard’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation entrusted to Willow Creek Funeral Home.
